However, if your motorhome has been stationary during the winter months, it's crucial to give it the care it deserves to ensure it's in perfect condition for the upcoming summer. As the summer season approaches, we have compiled a concise checklist of essential tasks to help you get your motorhome ready for the adventures ahead.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Thoroughly clean and polish both the interior and exterior of your motorhome. Additionally, inspect all seals and fittings to ensure they are intact and free from leaks. Due to its compact size, motorhomes can sometimes experience stagnant air. During a pleasant spring day, we recommend opening the doors and windows and let the fresh air blow through.Maintaining a clean interior will ensure that your motorhome looks and smells fresh.

Pay special attention to the roof, as it can accumulate significant dirt from driving on dusty roads or being stored in a garage or driveway.

Water System

The water system in your motorhome plays a vital role in providing clean and fresh water to various areas such as the kitchen, bathroom, and shower. If you did not properly winterize the water system before storing your motorhome, you may encounter unpleasant surprises when you use it again in the summer.

During the colder months, bacteria and algae can form in the water system. Therefore, it is essential to sanitize the system thoroughly and flush it before your next use.

Tyres & Brakes

Inspect the tyres for any signs of wear and tear and replace them if necessary. Additionally, ensure that the brakes are serviced to ensure they are in optimal working condition before you set of on your travels.

Please note: Tyres can lose pressure when your motorhome is unused over winter, it is important to check and adjust the tyre pressure accordingly.

Engine Check

We’d advise you to book a mechanical inspection, it is essential to check all engine fluids, including oil and coolant levels, as well as the windscreen washer fluid level, to ensure your motorhome is in excellent shape.

Insurance
